What Mitsubishi’s included maintenance actually is — and isn’t
The manufacturer’s included limited maintenance for qualifying original owners covers a set number of redemptions: three oil/filter changes, three tire rotations, three multi-point inspections and one cabin filter within specific redemption windows. These are dealer-provided benefits with defined time/mileage windows and are not the same as the vehicle’s required maintenance schedule in the owner’s manual. Treat included maintenance as prepaid services you must redeem on time; do not substitute these redemption windows for VIN-specific scheduled maintenance guidance.

Redemption windows and original-owner qualifications
Included maintenance is limited to original owners who bought a qualifying new vehicle from an authorized U.S. Mitsubishi dealer and is not transferable to a later owner. The redemption windows are: the first included service within 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first); the second and third included services within 24 months or 30,000 miles (whichever comes first). If you do not redeem a benefit within its window it may be forfeited. This describes eligibility and timing only — it does not define the vehicle’s required service intervals.

Warranty scope that affects maintenance decisions
Original-owner powertrain limited warranty coverage extends 10 years/100,000 miles. Subsequent owners are covered only by the balance of the standard new-vehicle limited warranty (five years/60,000 miles). Warranty start, exclusions and any claims process are described by Mitsubishi; confirm original-owner qualification details if warranty coverage affects your decision to use dealer service or third-party providers.

Why you still need the VIN-specific owner manual and service plan
The 2026 Outlander non-PHEV uses a 1.5L turbo engine and multiple trim equipment packages exist; exact maintenance items (fluids, intervals, capacities and procedures) are specified in the VIN-matched owner’s manual and service documentation. Do not assume oil grade, capacity, torque specs, scheduled-mileage intervals or DIY steps from generic guidance — obtain the correct 2026 manual for the vehicle before making technical maintenance decisions.

How included maintenance affects service choices
Because included maintenance is a set of prepaid redemptions with windows and is nontransferable, original owners may choose to redeem at the dealer within the applicable windows to preserve benefits. If you plan to sell the vehicle, note that the included maintenance typically does not transfer and unredeemed services may not carry forward to a subsequent owner.
